H12 STEEL CHARACTERISTICS
H12 steel is an air cooled and hardened hot work mold steel widely used in the manufacturing of various types of molds and tools. It has high hardness, strength, and wear resistance, can withstand high temperature and high pressure working environments, and also has good cold and hot fatigue resistance and processability.
H12 steel has excellent hardenability. During the quenching process, H12 steel can quickly reach the required hardness and strength, while maintaining a uniform structure and properties. This gives H12 steel a significant advantage in manufacturing molds with complex shapes and sizes, as it ensures consistent performance throughout the entire mold.
H12 steel has good thermal strength. When working at high temperatures, H12 steel can maintain high strength and hardness, and is less prone to deformation and damage. This makes H12 steel particularly suitable for manufacturing molds that require working in high-temperature environments, such as injection molds, die-casting molds, etc.
H12 steel has good oxidation resistance. When working at high temperatures, H12 steel can resist oxidation corrosion and is less prone to the formation and detachment of oxide skin, thereby extending the service life of the mold. This makes H12 steel particularly suitable for manufacturing molds that require working in high-temperature and humid environments, such as food molds, cosmetics molds, etc.
H12 steel has high toughness. During use, H12 steel can absorb significant impact energy and is less prone to fracture and cracking. This makes H12 steel particularly suitable for manufacturing molds that need to withstand significant impact forces, such as stamping molds, extrusion molds, etc.
H12 steel also has good cold and hot fatigue resistance. During the working process, H12 steel can withstand frequent cold and hot cyclic changes and is less prone to fatigue fracture. This makes H12 steel particularly suitable for manufacturing molds that need to withstand frequent cold and hot changes, such as cold drawing molds, cold heading molds, etc.
H12 steel has good workability. During the machining process, H12 steel can be easily cut, ground, and drilled, resulting in high machining efficiency. This makes H12 steel particularly suitable for manufacturing molds that require high-precision processing, such as electronic molds, optical molds, etc.
H12 steel has good heat treatment performance. Through appropriate heat treatment processes, the hardness, strength, and toughness of H12 steel can be adjusted to meet the needs of different working conditions. This gives H12 steel high flexibility and adaptability, which can meet various application needs.
H12 steel also has good polishing performance. During the polishing process, H12 steel can easily remove surface oxide scale and impurities, achieving a smooth surface quality. This makes H12 steel particularly suitable for manufacturing molds that require high smoothness, such as plastic molds, optical molds, etc.
