CR12MOV STEEL CHARACTERISTICS
Cr12MoV steel is a type of carbon molybdenum martensitic steel, which has good wear resistance, hardenability, hardenability, strength and toughness, thermal stability, and compressive strength. In addition, it also has micro deformation, excellent comprehensive performance, and wide adaptability.
In terms of composition, Cr12MoV steel with the addition of molybdenum and vanadium elements has a much lower carbon content compared to Cr12 steel. This has significantly improved its hot working performance, impact toughness, and carbide distribution. The softening temperature upon heating is 520, and the cutting edge can be completely quenched below 4mm. The wear resistance of this steel is 3-4 times that of composite steel, and the quenching volume is deformed. The quenching depth is 200-300mm after oil quenching.
In addition, when Cr12MoV steel is quenched and heated at 980, due to the low melting of carbides, the carbon content of the matrix is about 0.5%, the chromium content is 6%, and the molybdenum content is only 0.5%. The vanadium carbides melt less, and the amount of carbides distributed in the matrix is also less.
Overall, Cr12MoV steel is widely used in the manufacturing of tools and components that require high wear resistance, hardenability, hardenability, and toughness due to its excellent performance and wide adaptability.
Firstly, Cr12MoV steel has excellent wear resistance due to its high proportion of chromium and vanadium elements. These elements can form stable carbides, thereby improving the hardness and wear resistance of steel. This makes Cr12MoV steel an ideal material for manufacturing tools, molds, and other wear-resistant components.
Secondly, the hardenability of Cr12MoV steel is also very good. When steel is quenched, it can quickly cool and form martensitic structure. This type of organization has high hardness and strength, making the tools and components produced have excellent performance.
In addition, Cr12MoV steel also has good hardenability and thermal stability. This means that it can maintain its hardness and strength at high temperatures, ensuring that the tools and components produced have good performance during operation.
