Application scope of hot work die steel

Hot working die steel refers to alloy tool steel suitable for making dies for hot deformation of metal, such as hot forging dies, hot extrusion dies, die casting dies, hot upsetting dies, etc. Because the hot working die works under high temperature and high pressure for a long time, the die material is required to have high strength, hardness and thermal stability, especially high thermal strength, thermal fatigue, toughness and wear resistance.

1.2343 steel and 1.2344 steel are both hot work mold steels. The hardness after heat treatment is about 48-50HRC. This type of steel has good strength and toughness, as well as excellent wear resistance and fatigue resistance. In addition, it is widely used to manufacture various molds, including plastic molds, die-casting molds, etc.

On the other hand, 1.2344 mold steel, also known as H13 steel or 2344 steel, is a high-quality hot work mold steel. This steel grade was invented by German engineers and is popular due to its excellent wear resistance, high strength, high temperature stability, and good processability. It is widely used in the fields of molds, die-casting molds, extrusion molds, plastic molds, etc. Through electroslag remelting treatment, this steel has a uniform material, good hardenability, excellent machining and polishing properties, high toughness and plasticity, and high wear resistance at high and low temperatures.

H11 steel and H13 steel are also commonly used hot work mold steels. H11 steel is an American grade with a factory hardness of 235HB. And H13 steel is a grade from the United States, with chemical composition equivalent to domestic 4Cr5MoSiV1, Japanese SKD61, and German standard 1.2344. Both types of steel have the characteristics of high strength, toughness, and wear resistance, making them suitable for manufacturing various types of molds.

SKD61 steel is a Japanese grade, which is a vacuum quenched tool steel with good hardness and wear resistance. Overall, these steels all have their own advantages and characteristics, and the choice mainly depends on the specific application requirements.
